Lecture Slides for College Lecturers and Instructors

College lecturers and instructors are invited to download sets of Don’t Forget slides for all of the main chapters in Digital Media Tools, 3rd Edition from our downloads site, MacAvon Media. This forms part of our Services for Lecturers, available through a free MacAvon Media Lecturer’s Account.

A Lecturer’s Account provides a range of free services to bona fide college lecturers and instructors, including free PDF evaluation copies of our books, the ability to construct course bundles of selected PDF chapters for your course, and access to the lecture slides.

The slides are available in pre-constructed sets of PowerPoint slides, sets of high-quality PDF slides, and special lecture slides “kits”. Because the PowerPoint and PDF sets are not editable we have also provided kits in the form of zip archives containing all of the Key Points from each chapter in plain text files plus image files of all the figure slides from our own slides sets.

Pocket PDF “Don’t Forget” Slides for Students

Small format (480 × 300 pixels) sets of PDF slides are now available to buy at very low cost from the MacAvon Media Downloads Store. These Pocket PDF slides contain exactly the same material that you can view in the Flash versions on this site, but the quality is higher and the size and shape of the slides have been adapted to fit a mobile phone or iPod Touch screen.

Pocket PDF Slides are intended to assist you in memorising the key points from each chapter and for use as a personal version of the lecture slides which you may have seen in your lectures. They are primarily designed for display on mobile phones and iPods, but can of course also be used on larger devices such as Apple’s iPad or your computer.

These slides are in PDF format, so please ensure that you know how to import and display PDF on your mobile device before you download them.

Embedded Flash Slides

A Flash movie of the slides is embedded in each page in this section of the site. This is primarily so that you can have a look at the slides before downloading them in one of the other formats. If you wish you may download the SWF files and use them on a Web site, provided that site is only used as teaching support for a course at your institution. We do not recommend using these movies for projecting slides in a lecture, as the quality is not good enough for displaying at a large size.

You need version 9 or higher of the FlashPlayer plug-in or ActiveX control to play the embedded slides. If you cannot play the slides, make sure that you are not using an older version of the plug-in. Windows users may have to click on the embedded Flash content in order to activate the control.
