H.264/AVC
A video codec, defined in the MPEG-4 Part 10 standard, which produces high-quality video at low data rates by using a combination of advanced intra- and inter-frame compression techniques. Often known simply as H.264.
MPEG-4
A multi-part standard, including several video and audio codecs and a file format, designed to support a range of multimedia data at bit rates from 10 kbits per second to 300 Mbits per second or higher.
MPEG-4 Part 2
A video codec that is a refinement of MPEG-2, now superseded by H.264/AVC.
