HSL

Hue (H), saturation (S) and lightness (L). A colour model in which hue is modified by white and black. Geometrically, the HSL model is a double cone.

HSV, HSB

Hue (H), saturation (S) and value (V), or (synonymously) brightness (B). A variation of the HSL colour model in which the geometry is distorted to be a cylinder, to make the colour space easier to present on screen.

saturation

One of the three components used to specify a colour in the HSL and HSV colour models. As saturation of a colour is reduced the colour becomes greyer; a fully desaturated colour will be a shade of grey, tending to white at high brightness values and black at low brightness values.
